Armani participated in SXSW EDU 2026 in Austin, Texas this year, where he spoke with educators and attendees about perseverance, resilience, and inclusion. Armani called it “an incredible few days” and said he was grateful for the chance to share his journey and connect with people working to create more inclusive spaces. He also thanked those who attended, asked questions, and engaged in conversation.
SXSW EDU featured sessions with Armani in conversation with Williams and Christina Cantrill of the National Writing Project, followed by a mentor session for educators. The sessions focused on “racing on the spectrum” and highlighted Williams’ remarks about continuing to learn on and off the track, as well as his appreciation for educators, caregivers, and coaches who supported him.
Taken together, the SXSW EDU appearances offered a setting for Williams to place his personal experience in dialogue with the people shaping learning environments—emphasizing both individual effort and the role of sustained support.
